A Level Environmental Science
Course Information
Students of A-level Environmental Science will gain a deep and well-informed insight into the environment and the scientific processes that control and affect it. The course aims to consider environmental events and cycles, the human impacts on these and the strategies that can be used to reduce problems caused. Students are also taught how to collect, analyse and interpret scientific data through fieldwork and lab sessions. Our world is changing – population is increasing, resources are diminishing, and ecosystems are threatened. Environmental Science offers the opportunity for students to understand our environment and develop sustainable strategies for environmental management.
Career opportunities
A-Level Environmental Science will provide you with a wide range of academic and transferable skills which opens the door to a range of careers fields including: Environmental consultancy, ecology, conservation, sustainability strategy, climate science, water quality and environmental education.
Entry requirements
Either a grade 6 in Geography at GCSE or a grade 6 in Combined Science at GCSE or a grade 6 in a Triple Science subject at GCSE.
Students must also achieve a grade 6 in Maths at GCSE.
