Safeguarding the wellbeing of our children is paramount. Our policy can be found here.
We have very clear procedures and systems in place to identify and act if we suspect a child is in danger.
We have a number of trained professionals in the Academy, but there are 3 named designated safeguarding leads:
Mr Simon Tarr [Assistant Principal], Ms Simone Weekes [Safeguarding and Child Protection Officer] & Ms Lucy Sacre [Director of Learning Support]
If you are concerned about the welfare of a child you can contact the police [101 for non-urgent calls, 999 where you believe a child to be in immediate danger]. Alternatively, you can call the LADO [Local Area Designated Officer] on 01603 223473. If you suspect that some form of abuse is taking place on line, you can contact CEOP [Child Exploitation Online Protection]:
Wymondham High will be taking part in a jointly run operation between Norfolk County Council and Norfolk Police called Operation Encompass. Encompass has been set up to help schools provide support to children who have been present at incidents of domestic violence. We know that children can be significantly physically or emotionally harmed when they are involved in, or witness to, domestic violence.
