Hello and welcome to our school's website. This year's Principal's Council was selected in June 2015, and stands to develop and improve communication and connections between staff and pupils at Wymondham High Academy.
We consist of the two House Captains from each house, and from this group the Head Boy/Girl, Vice-Head Girl/Boy and the Assistant Heads are picked. We work alongside Mr Boulton and other senior staff members to make sure that the standards the school holds are known and maintained to allow each pupil to fulfil their potential and make the school the best it can be. We have weekly meetings at break on Thursday where we discuss any issues or ideas that students, staff and parents alike have presented to us and talk about current affairs within the school.
Through us, students of all years can have a say and share their opinions about the day-to-day running of the school. It also means that we can give feedback to staff about how pupils perceive their education, helping them to improve using that feedback. We also contribute to a Twitter account (@WyHighHC) where people can make suggestions and help to send information out to students; this can range from dates, times and events to just regular updates about what is happening in the school from the perspective of other pupils. We also celebrate pupils' achievements and hope to raise the profile of the amazing community each student belongs to, and what they can strive to attain. Alongside that, we plan many of the events that happen in the school calendar and play an active role in many parent-and-new-student occasions.
We believe that the Principal's Council is a key part of improving and maintaining the high standards at Wymondham High Academy and that it is vitally important that students have the opportunity to have a larger involvement in their schooling and to appreciate what a great experience it can be. The Principal's Council has been a part of our excellent school for many years, and we hope it continues into the future.
